5tarwin is a Chicago-based artist, producer, and live performer whose foundation stretches back to the early 1990s Midwest rave explosion. Performing under the moniker DJ Napalm, he carved a distinct lane by defying strict genre dogma—fusing rapid acid techno, raw Chicago house bounce, and relentless breakbeat pressure.
Deepening his production craft, he joined the renowned Slang Music Group, founded by Chicago house icon Vince Lawrence (co-writer of the seminal anthem "Love Can't Turn Around" featuring Farley "Jackmaster" Funk). Collaborating alongside master engineer KE2, 5tarwin honed analog mixing, track architecture, and sound design. His work expanded into major commercial remixes—working on official stems for Beyoncé ("End of Time"), Madonna ("Ray of Light"), Tony Thomas, Illangelo, bLAck pARty, and Lords of Acid as well as scoring commercial audio campaigns for premier downtown Chicago agencies.
Following a 12-year hiatus to raise his family, 5tarwin returned with singular creative fury. Combining vintage club instinct with uncompromising sound-system weight, his sets and productions deliver heavy low-end pressure, hypnotic syncopation, and surgical dynamic control.
